Blood Moon Thru Trees by Carla Fisher

The blood moon of January 2019 was far too alluring. It’s magnetism was overpowering, and demanded to be made. At four foot square, the size and grandeur of this depiction of the moon through willows announces its magnificence. The moon itself, reverse painted and stitched onto dupioni silk, is mounted in the rear of the frame with the willow branch thread sculptures suspended in the foreground to created shadows on the moon.
