Atmospheric Abstracts by Jaquita Ball

My work derives its meaning from the abstracted nature of our skies, from the "big sky" of the West to the humid, hazy atmospheres of the South. As an advocate of knowledge of climate change and water conservation, I now observe the skies more closely, knowing that our climate shifts and morphs our earthly landscape, from vast shallow seas to marshy lush grasslands to arid and waterless deserts. The paint on my canvas follows the ebb and flow of this life-giving resource, scarce to so many. The abstracts bring awareness to all aspects of the skies' activities, from tornadic storms to arid, dry blue skies.
