Venas de Oro (Veins of Gold) by Patricia

Cardozo wields the alchemic power of gold to hint at associations with the sun and earth. Long canvases are used to represent a panorama while the shorter compositions look to the windows/doors theme, conflating notions of space and perception. In the equilateral canvases - the two centerpieces of the series - a square ratio is used to emulate a geographical piece of land area to interpret.
