Calligraphy and Copper and everything else by Louise Thompson

My art education began as a very young child seeing beautiful art in Catholic Churches.Growing up on a farm I experienced the wide open spaces which allowed me to think in broad terms. Thus my career started. When I was 17 I was introduced to calligraphy, learning the uncial alphabet. From then on I dabbled with that art form until I moved to Nashville, TN where calligraphy is very alive. The Nashville Calligrapher Guild enabled me to expand my knowledge by participating in yearly classes offered by world renowned calligraphers. While finishing an art degree at Alverno College in 2001 I entered the world of metals and have added copper work to my portfolio. Who knows what the next bend in the road will bring to my artistic eye and hands!
