The slums have no electricity, no waste management, pollution is pervasive, and the risk of diseases and epidemics are compounded marketplace. Highways and transport infrastructure are non-existent.Malnutrition and hunger are very present in the slums. Crime and insecurity are the daily lot of their inhabitants.Slums are legally illegal, because they were built without permission and are included on no master plan.
