Monica Campana Montanarella

Location: Italy

Monica Campana Montanarella was born in Caracas, Venezuela, from Italian parents.
She lived and studied art in Italy, the United States and France. She considers herself a “Citizen of th World” who embraces different cultures and tries to absorb the positive aspects of each one.
She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from FAU, FL with a specialization in art history and painting from Aix-en-Provence, France. She also has an MBA from Thunderbird, Arizona.
She has been creating art for more than 25 years. In her previous work, the artist tried to depict a way out of the dark issues of life – a path of hope through color. She delved into the world of Chagall, the cubist period of Picasso and the color contrasts' of the Fauves. For a few years, she was also under the guidance of Jesus Fuertes, one of the last 'true' cubist followers and pupils of Picasso living in Miami.
Today, the artist entered a new artistic dimension. She is using a number of artistic processes such as drawing, photography, computer art to make original pieces that start from an idea, from a feeling, from a person holding her hand or talking to her. The artist believes that in today's world, communication and human interaction has been almost lost and tries to re-establish that connection through her artwork. Too many people are depressed, feel negativity in their being, therefore she tries to use the words and images in her art pieces as positive weapons of change that will transfer the necessary positive energy into the viewer's heart and soul. She also uses meditative music and nature as a source of inspiration. All her pieces are printed on a metal surface to make the final piece ‘jewel-like’, reflecting as much light as possible.
Among others, she showed her work at several venues, including galleries in California, Florida, and Italy. Her newest work has been displayed in galleries in Wynwood as well as Spectrum Miami. She also exhibited at the Las Vegas and New York Art Expo 2018, as well as in a number of Art Shows in Asia, more specifically in South Korea (Plastic Art Seoul). She is getting ready for China (Shanghai and Shenzhen Art Fair), where her work will be shown in November.
Her work was also displayed at PaviArt, Lucca Art Fair, and ArtParma 2018 in Italy.
Her art currently belongs to a number of private collectors in the United States, Mexico, Spain, Italy, Thailand and Venezuela.
