Edward T Shiffer

Ed Shiffer was born in Washington, DC in June of 1929. He attended the public school system and studied art there as well as at the Corcoran Art Gallery Art School. After graduation from high school he enrolled in Yale University and spent seven years there earning a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Architecture degree. He served in the US Army in Germany in 1955 and 1956 with rank of First Lieutenant. After leaving Germany he worked for architectural firms for three years in San Francisco and New York City. In1962 he opened his architectural office and practised as a principal until retirement. His ofice designed community centers,,schools, city and state government prrojects amd a mixed use high rise building in New York City
.
After retirement he devoted his time to watercolor painting beginning in June of 2008. He studied for short time at the Art Students League. He produced a group of paintings which were exhibited at the Scarsdale Public Library from February 14th to February 27th, 2010. The works are realistic in nature and contain paintings of public buildings and private houses in France, England, Ridgefield, Connecticut and Scarsdale, New York.
