Paula Laflamme

Location: Canada

Born in Montreal, November 13 1964.

I spent my childhood between land and sea, the slums of Montreal, and the richness of my ancestors, from Gaspé.

My paintings are my own compositions, my work.

I use my emotions and the expressions of the people I meet, to live in interesting situations and moving deep in my characters, and those who contemplate.

The every day life, the mood of our society, the character and actions of the "Almighty" and others, those who make their little daily routine living their lives without anyone`s notice, are a valuable sources of inspiration.

I let myself be carried away by my foolishness, let it be sweet, bitter or violent. I leave my brushes guide me until the darkness reaches the light.

Note that the interpretation of these works, as intimate as they could be, I sincerley hope you can discover the deep emotions that lie dormant within us all.

Emotionally yours

VISION OF MY DISTINCT SOCIETY

VISION OF MY DISTINCT SOCIETY

Vision of a world from ours, ours included.
In a culture different from ours, integrated with ours!
In fact, represented by means of this table,
Society as I see her, as I feel,
As I see it

With its ups and downs, but no top or bottom.
Without bias or false modesty.
Unscrupulous or false modesty as well!
That is not hypocrisy.
With humor, with Amur, full of colors and values.

Explain to people, for a moment, the moment at a glance.
A distinct society.
Distinct in the sense that each individual is unique, different,
At the same time so similar!

Similar in emotions,
Different by nationality, creed, social status,
And so on.
Similar in the sense that the difference
Does not matter in the big moments.
As love, birth, death!
How about life!

Ladies and gentlemen, the main purpose of this table
Is of course to experience emotions,
But mostly to let people in this short message:

IF EVERYONE LEFT A PLACE TO ANOTHER
TAKING CARE ALSO TAKE PLACE,
EVERYONE HAS ITS PLACE IN OUR SOCIETY.
A different society,
COMPANY distinct!
COMPANY, one in which we live,
One we are all part!
LIKE ALL OUR DIFFERENCES!

HUMAN ?!...

A big word!
With a large or a small H h?
What sense the word here is human? Or is it just a word, name, just a very ordinary word which means a living being?
An adjective describing the man, humanity?
Let's search and discover what a human being!
Mr. Collins was kind enough to enlighten me, at least he tried to find out what a human being is supposed to mean!
Let's see, Human, men, mankind?!
Human! Which the characters. The nature of man! Which consists of men.
The human being, the human species.
Which relates to man, its own?!
Human body, human nature. To err is human?!
People. For the man who designed the man.
Human geography. Which is the measure of man!
A city on a human scale?!
Human!
Which is sensitive to pity?
Compassionate, understanding?!

HUMAN WELL ... A LITTLE WORD!

Beyond the picture
Come see the damage
That bullfighting
generates,
That mankind,
creates through its cruelty,
And by his goodness
Abolishes all cruelty!

THE COMPLACENCY OF PEOPLE

Complacency of people is the fear, anguish, terror of having to live, or even one day the fear of war very. Fear of being a witness or victim to a terrible act at a time that we least expect it.

It is also incomprehension of a world without pity and without heart, who does not hesitate to kill his neighbor to satisfy his thirst for vengeance, people who do not hesitate to bully poor children, defenseless women to satisfy their desire to win.
Is there a reason to kill, bomb, destroy a population that has thousands of years of civilization?

Is it possible that a couple of sound mind kill each other, and binds up their wounds together in a sweet indulgence, like a bitter old couple that is torn apart then to better weld together until the next bombing, which could be fatal.
This table is a cry of despair in the face of people complacent in the face of a complacent world.

It is perhaps a glimmer of hope for survivors who have gone through this hell, and that will, I hope, instil peace in their life.

ALLEVIATED SUFFERING

Alleviated suffering is the result of an emotion so intense that it becomes violent and primitive.

This is the deep desire and obsession to heal the wounds of others, to alleviate the suffering that are eating the poor, piercing the heart and leaving us with a taste in our mouths, the taste acrid and bitter impotence.

We can be as powerless against the disease in the face of misfortune, the face of death, we can alleviate the suffering that slowly kills those we love and cherish dearly by giving them love, affection?

Can we alleviate the suffering of AIDS patients, cancer patients, the hungry, the sick and suffering children, with a tender caress?

Can we heal the mental and physical injuries of a child victim of war, taking them gently in our arms?

We can relieve the anxiety that inhabits those who have rocked our childhood, in old age and facing death, by saying simply, I love you?!

Moods

There are days like this.

Some mornings, when I look for a meaning to my life
Those mornings when I want to put an end to it.

To shout to the world the pain that i live
My heart capsizes day in and day out

Finally, to shout in the face of the world
My fears, my anxieties and my resentment.

I stand up and claim
The meaning to my life

There are some mornings, when that little voice
Echoes in my head.

Those mornings when she says
Life, and life is so beautiful.

This new life, one that calls you
It's yours, it belongs to you.

Love your life, she will love you too
Know your love and she will give meaning to your life

It belongs to you, gives meaning to your life.
This morning, it's worth it.

And finally you say,
there are those mornings when I want to live at last.

The Woman of my Lovers “The Woman of my Lovers”

THE WOMAN OF MY LOVERS

Poor woman of my lovers.

Yes the same one that for days, nights and moons, cherished and waited for her better half with joy, love, patience and finally desolation.

One that, despite the sadness that grabs the heart and squeezes her throat, remade the bed she shared with no one but her withered hopes at dawn.

In the hope that her Dear John gives her look or a smile, as she trys to hide the dark shadows under her eyes, puts on her robe, worn by years, and welcomes with open arms, to feel his warm breath that have long awaited, her arms and her big breasts offer the comfort and safety, long search for.

Maybe one day, one night, or even a moment,
I was the woman of my lovers.

MAGIC WAND

If only we could, with a touch of a magic wand
Enlighten the heart of the people around us
To see clearly the path of our own lives.

And thereby ensure that the magic takes them
To enlighten the road of our lives

Strewn with flowers, colors and happiness.
This road will lead us to that depth.

Only the faint of heart dig deep in their hearts the Innocence, purity, wisdom and well-being ... ....

My soul is sad to think that they are confined to close their minds
Preventing them to see how their happiness is infinite.

My heart is heavy to carry all these burdens
Weighing on my sore shoulders.

But a look, a sigh of patience
I imagine that a single touch of my magic wand.

I will see again a spark of love
Emergence from their eyes, their hearts
And here them say, I love you mom.

Love Of Gaspé

My Gaspésie

Childhood dreams, memories of adolescence!

The smell of the sea, immensity taste of salt, the smell of hay, the sound of gravel,
I am almost there!

Percé with your enormous rock that hits me right in the heart
As soon as I see it, parked, me standing on Surprise Hill

Shortness of breath, I leave this wonder flooding me all the love in the world!
I Love you all Gaspésien people, my people!

Grandpa and Grandma, Grand Dad and Grand-ma, my father's violin and the guitar of my mother, takes me back to my Rocher Percé.

The real Hangman, the legend told to me by Mémé, rainy evenings in her kitchen in Coin Du Banc, while grandpa played harmonica, still ring in my head when like a maze I discover the small paths of the cemetery of Percé during my visits to you all my ancestors, my family, Leola, Antonio, and Parsivier you who I miss so much, Carole.

Standing on the dock, watching the ocean, admiring the boats cut through the waves returning fishermen safely, friends, cousins, children and parents. It s at the Dragueur a famous Percé club lead us to celebrate and dance in honor of the efforts of these great men!

These places of my childhood, always brings me back to love.
The love of family, music, roots of our life, and love period!

Perce Les Nuages “Perce Les Nuages”

Oil Painting 30X24

Perce les nuages (Through the clouds)

From Montreal to Percé, from the south side, through the Matapedia Valley.

Passing on the north side, or by Matane Murdochville
My eyes and my thoughts travel to the rhythm of the waves,

Flying high into the sky and the clouds as I sail passing through these small villages unknown, however, that welcomed me to their beautiful smiles.

Dear to my heart, my Gaspé take me to the clouds, to the sea!

My thoughts perceiving these clouds, guiding me in the adventure that is my life.

Pierces the clouds, your light illuminates the sea, illuminates my life.
Piercing the clouds, piercing me with your love, I need it, I want it.

From Montreal to Gaspé on this road, we sang songs of our mothers, the air Weed through Gaspés hope, through the route of the vulnerabilities are the stories of our grandmothers and tunes our grandparents that guide our steps on their land.

Piercing the clouds and guide our steps, your light shines me forever.

Oil Painting 30X24

For my grandma

So many melodies that wander in my head
Giving wings, and allowing me to travel
Through time ... ...

I revisit your long windswept white hair
Standing, working in the fields, mowing like a man.

You reign as a queen on your field, smiling.
Like a slave, you attend to the difficult tasks that only you could handle.

Suppressing the drama of your life, you express your love without reservation.
Today the love you left me allows me to revisit you.

Every day of my life, these imaginary wings attached to my body, I can travel, Through time ...
Giving you in my turn all my love!

How I loved you, my grandma, thanks to you, I know how to travel, to love, and to live ...

To find you!
