Experimental Fractal Art

These images begin with paper pressed onto a smooth surface painted with pigment. When the paper is lifted away, a pattern is created. The pattern is called decalcomania. The paper is laid on the pigment then lifted again until I create a print I am happy with. Once the print is dry, colored pencil is used to add detail and depth to the piece. This takes from 3-8 hours depending on the piece. All original pieces are 20 x 26.
