Turning Nature into Art by David Golzbein

I use salvaged tree wood from Miami Florida. The wood is turned to a shape, then dried to 6% moisture or less. Once dry a design is cut into the wood and colored light transparent epoxy resin is poured into the design, touch up resin is always needed to fill trapped air bubbles. When resin is 72 hours dry the work goes back on the lathe to remove the unwanted wood so the resin is visible from both sides. The bowl is sanded from 80 grit to 400 grit sandpaper and sealed with food grade mineral oil with beeswax giving a natural feel to the bowl. All bowls can be used to serve cold or room temperature food.
Bowls should be placed on a table where sun light can shine on it.
