ttriptych – a circle of life by James JP Hawkins

Back in 1972, while living in the stone Castle in Modjeska Canyon, California, I was thinking about life and his phases. It came to me that life indeed was and is and would be cyclical. This triptych is a snapshot harkening back in time to the living room where I lived. The first image represents the beginning of life before the flame is even lit and before one comprehends life. The second image shows the flame lit when life shines brightly illuminated all. The third image in the triptych is when the flame goes out and for a short time there is some residual smoke. Completing the circle from nothing to nothing.
