Virginia Erdie is a classically trained fine artist who graduated from The Maryland Institute, College of Art and The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, bachelors and master's degrees respectively. She spent time in London as an exchange student, after being awarded the Jules Bodarky Scholarship and the E. A. Navaretta Scholarship through the Maryland Institute, College of Art. Her studies included travels across Europe, where she frequented the Louvre, The Pompidou, the Tate, The Reichs Museum, and more. Though classically trained as a printmaker, she favored monotypes, which is a painting process on plexi-glass and paper, rolled through a printing press. She journeyed onto painting and is now an abstract/fantasy painter. Her paintings and illustrations are admired by adults and children because of their whimsical quality.

Her work has been auctioned for such causes as Susan G. Komen cure for cancer, Cure for Aids, and "Grapes for Grades" for scholarship money to children in need.

Her interest in children's art inspired her to be Production Designer for Classic Children's Theatre Project "Don Coyote" at the Acorn Civic Theatre on Miami Beach and to teach art to mentally disabled children and young adults.

She resides in Hollywood, Florida with her husband, where their home is considered the Dewey Street Museum of Art, filled with her own artwork and paintings and sculptures from other great artists.
