Christine Moore

Location: Australia

Christine Moore has been painting and drawing for over 30 years. She has worked mostly with pastels, acrylics and mixed media. Her work tends to focus on landscapes and cityscapes from around the world. Recently she has started experimenting with more abstract paintings and different techniques, including encaustic painting.
Christine was born in Switzerland and studied to be a piano teacher at the Conservatorium of Fribourg. She moved to Australia in 1983 and settled in Sydney, before moving to Tasmania in 2005. Since then, she has consistently worked with a variety of media, taking online courses in acrylics, drawing and mixed media.
She has had her work exhibited at the Peppercorn Gallery (Richmond) and at the Signal Station Brasserie (Hobart). Her portfolio was recently published in Craft Arts International Magazine, no 95, November 2015.
She has won two Special Merit Certificates in the Light Space & Time Art Competitions (one in May 2015 - Abstracts theme - and one in August 2015 - Open theme). She has also won a honorable mention in the painting category (September 2015 - SeaScapes).
She is presently preparing an Encaustic Exhibition for the Inka Gallery in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.
