I received my BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and continued extended studies at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. I studied painting and drawing with abstract expressionists, including Kofi Kayiga, Peter Wayne Lewis, Martin Ball and Sandra Dunn. I have completed several commissions including one for Boston Children’s Hospital. Awards include the “Most Popular Award” from North Shore Art Association in 2004. In 2012 I participated in Millay Colony for the Arts Winter Shakers guest artist retreat program. My work is included in several private and public collections including Joseph Smith Community Health Center in Brighton, MA. I am a member of Brickbottom Artists Association, Somerville, MA and Unbound Visual Arts, Brighton, MA. I reside and maintain my studio in the Brighton area.
My work has been described as “delightful refracted worlds.” In my daily travels, I like to gather visual information from nature and surrounding man-made structures of the urban landscape. Later in my studio I tap into my memory, imagination and emotions seeking to transcend what I have seen, and what I have experienced. Color, line, shapes, form, movement and textures are all very exciting to me! My paintings explore vibrant color combinations with the goal of transforming my observations into simplified lively tapestries!
