While mainly a kana calligrapher, Rishun Ishii also creates a wide range of artworks including kanji-kana mixed calligraphy, bone script, and ancient characters. In addition to serving as vice president of the Nikkikai Art Association, she also dedicates herself to education through calligraphy, and is honorary instructor of the Calligraphy University. Ishii was born in 1932.
