Born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1980, Okamoto is a calligrapher, depicting the characters in her pieces by expanding on her image of them, filling her lines with emotion to create the beauty of black and white space. Okamoto's motto is to feel the characters as one sees them instead of reading them and the energy and concentration she brings to the paper increases the presence of her pieces.
