Marcia Van Dijk

Marcia van Dijk was born in 1961 and lives and works in Leiden NL. After a distinguished career in law she rediscovered her passion for creating art that had long been dormant. She is a conceptual artist: concrete and non objective.
Marcia van Dijk creates drawings, paintings and graphics. Her work is aesthetic and emphasizes clarity of coulors. Straight lines and geometrical figures fascinate her and she has a striking sense of coulor. She finds her inspiration in the early abstract painters of the 20th century: Mondriaan, El Lissitzky, Kandinsky, Klee, Malevich. The compositions are created intuitively. In her work she brings the three-dimensional back to the two-dimensional.
