Christian

My name is Christian van Hedel. I like to create art by painting, photography or photo-art (digital). Creating visual art is like telling a story or poetry.

Creativity is in my blood, I was born with it (1974). As a child I drew and tinkered in all my spare time . Lack of imagination was never there. To express my feelings and imagination, I created a drawing or i wrote a story or poetry. If I was not involved in drawing or writing, I was definitely busy creating something, or experimenting with materials and techniques.

For describe all the sayings, there are actually not enough words . With images and silences you can tell more than in countless books. My paintings are abstract and / or modern, like the present world around us. From the millennium year 2000 I started to paint on canvas with acrylic paint . The paintings are for me like poetry, related to life . In several art-works, you will find my poetry.

Mixedmedia

Chrizy's mixed media semi-digital Art is: A combination of drawing, writing, painting, photography, photo editing and a chemical process by adding chemicals.
Mixed Media semi-digital Art is a work of art in large format. It is a modern artwork in which a variety of techniques and materials have been combined. From pencil drawings up to digital photo editing and everything in between.

The prints are processed through painting and adding various chemical liquids. This creates time and again a different picture. These pictures are taken and again merged digitally. This process is repeated several times. In this way there arise completely a new sleek modern and abstract art.

A mixed media semi-digital artwork prints to 4 manually in a low circulation. The image is very exclusive: An historic time image that is printed in limited numbers.

Fiction Elements

Visual Artist Christian van Hedel (1974) mainly paints non-figurative abstract art. He is active as a painter for more than 18 years now. At the beginning of 2017, Van Hedel started a completely new project/series which he named "Fiction Elements". This new series consists of colourfull wall filling paintings. The works are inspired by the natural and essential spiritual energies from everyday life. Conscious of the unconscious, stains, strokes, shapes and lines are painted on the constantly recurring greyish backgrounds of the canvasses. The contrast between dark and light, colours and black-white dominates the canvas. The shapes are defined very precisely, evoked by the materials used or created by the unique use of brushes or palette knife. Because of the black lines Van Hedel uses in his work, it becomes a comic-like rendering that brings the whole into balance. The paintings are visual compilations of experiences, dreams and contemplations. Autobiographical images, in which Van Hedel tries to broaden the field of view beyond the purely visual. There is more to it than meets the eye; food for the eye and the mind.
