Romy: 'looking for the beauty of imperfections'

"I paint portraits because man is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for me. it is mainly a challenge for me to give a portrait of content. So the viewer feels something special when seeing the work.
At the moment, I mainly make portraits of older people . it fits well with my way of working in charcoal. Again in this I look for the beauty of that imperfection. And I'm figuring out how far I can go into it.
I always look for new ways of working. And that new way can be in the use of other materials or the approach of the subject, which can be figurative but also much more abstract. I'm not ready yet ... ''
