Vincent Oyenga

My art combines the vibrancy, honesty and colour of Kenya where I grew up,and the inner and outer journeys taken since. Among artists, Matisse, Monet, Modigliani, Pissarro and Schiele ,capture my imagination and have influenced my art in different ways.I mostly work in acrylics and pastels reflecting colour and making visible the inner magic of an array of subjects on canvas.
My approach to art is as a child does with discovering as there is always new horizons and techniques to learn this, keeps me focused.
I philosophize about the arts and crafts movement of the 1880s,the rebellion of substance as well as style and conviction that art and craft can change peoples lives.

"If my art should inspire a child to participate in some way then I will have achieved my success".
