Abstract Realism is an art form that merges two seemingly contradictory concepts: abstract art and realistic art.
Abstract art consists of patterns, colors, textures, and lines, without the need for a recognizable subject.
Realistic art, on the other hand, seeks to imitate reality, as in photography. When these two elements come together to create an abstract impression of real life, the result is Abstract Realism.
Angelika's thoughts about selfies on social media and the related superficiality, where the harts and inner of people seems to be less important, is why she wants to express herself through her work 'From selfie to art'.
The artworks are mixed media with oil and glasspaint in which the selfie is blended during the process of working and taking a snap shot. After that it is printed on plexiglass.
