My work explores harmony in human creation through abstraction, where chaos and structure coexist in dynamic balance.
I paint because it’s my way of being in the world. Rather than theorizing, my work is pure impulse—stain and color in motion.
I’m Claudia Collao, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Chile and an oil painter. I associate painting more with music than with words: rhythm, intensity, and contrast define each piece.
My work moves in the intersection between comics, science fiction cinema, and street graffiti, exploring social deformity and digital omnipresence.
Through color, stain, and abstraction, I construct my own reality, where the recognizable and the unrecognizable are in constant tension
Mi trabajo explora la armonía en la creación humana desde la abstracción, donde el caos y la estructura conviven en
un equilibrio dinámico.
A painting with warm, vibrant colors that blends abstraction and figuration within the same space. It evokes a festive atmosphere where cumbia sets the rhythm and brings the scene to life.
“Pasajero”, like much of my work, is a delirious blend of comics, fiction cinema, and street graffiti — a language close to me. It reflects themes like social and economic distortion, environmental collapse, digital overload, and shifting territorial identities. These aren’t distant dystopias but present-day concerns. My paintings don't aim for realistic depiction; instead, they explore the blurred line between fiction and reality, creating an abstract world where color, drawing, and stain take center stage.
The work reflects the struggle for harmony in a world where the organic, in its purity and fluidity, is constrained by structures created by humans.
This piece is inspired by the intersection of technology and nature, reflecting on the invasion of the artificial into the biological. The idea of a bio-mechanical future influenced the use of forms like tubes and circles, representing a complex, transformative system.I hope viewers feel both intrigued and contemplative, questioning the coexistence of technology and the natural world. The vibrant colors and dynamic forms aim to evoke a sense of movement and transformation, sparking reflections on the environmental and societal impacts of this interaction. The combination of vibrant tones, dark contrasts, and dynamic lines allows me to convey both chaos and order, mirroring the themes of transformation and symbiosis. This visual language emphasizes the tension between natural and technological systems, aligning with my focus on contemporary issues.
