Kristin Maija Peterson

Kristin Maija Peterson is a practicing professional visual artist, art director, graphic designer, writer and founder of Grand Ciel Design based in St. Paul, Minnesota. She holds a BA in Studio Art and Art History and most recently attended the University of St. Catherine’s Women’s Art Institute Summer Studio Intensive (2019). Growing up among prairies, lakes, rivers, and oak savannas along with her project work with environmental nonprofit organizations collectively influence her creative path. Currently, she is exploring in-depth the question “What is Beauty” as it relates to globalization on a large scale and agism on a more personal level. Kristin works in watercolor, graphite, color pencil and oil pastels, interpreting in detail the beautiful chaos within native wild spaces and its inhabitants found living there. She also designs and writes “Little Books for Grown-ups,” which are philosophical, witty takes on life. She has a deep admiration for all animal kind and is always kind to spiders.
