Alicent Art

Since arriving on the art scene in 2013, Italian born, London
based Alicent, has gradually successfully integrated within
the art community.

Inspired by her love for nature and by her own life experience, she works with acrylic on canvas, using mainly the palette knife and drip painting techniques.

As a professional self-taught artist, Alicent is constantly seeking more innovative ways to develop new techniques. She expresses her emotions translating them into vibrant and contrasting colours with consistent texture and striking effects.

Alicent has steadily progressed with her artistic journey throughout the past few years, after being selected for the Artexpo in Rome and the New Artist Fair in London she was also invited to the NY Art Gallery Grand Opening in New York and the Passaggio in Laguna exhibition in Venice.

Just recently, Alicent’s latest creations have been selected for ‘La Geometria nell’Arte’ exhibition in Milan and for ‘L’Esposition D’Art Contemporain’ at Le Carrousel Du Louvre in Paris. The Rome Art Gallery mini solo exhibition was the last event in December 2019.

Rainbow “Rainbow”

28x36x4 cm - Acrylic on canvas
Inspired by the vibrant colours of a Rainbow

Magic Lagoon “Magic Lagoon”

20x30x4 cm - acrylic on canvas - Palette knife technique
This is an imaginary scenery of a green lagoon deep into the forest. The combination of vertical lines, the reflections, the different shades of green and the yellow dots throughout, emanate a sense of illusion that takes the viewer's imagination away from reality into a magic fantasy world.

Rhythm of colours “Rhythm of colours”

60x60x4 cm - Acrylic on canvas - palette knife and drip painting technique
This is an example of drip painting and palette knife technique. On this piece I created an underlying texture of bold multi-coloured lines culminating with a contrasting splatter of vibrant colours. With this painting I want to transmit a message of happiness and spiritual wellbeing to the onlooker.

Perspective “Perspective”

90x60x4 cm - Acrylic on canvas - Palette knife technique
This piece was inspired by an amazing view I photographed whilst on holiday in a small town on the beautiful coastline of Sardinia. The long road with the row of houses converging towards the mountains on the horizon are represented on this painting.

New York Skyline “New York Skyline”

100x50x4 cm Acrylic on canvas - Palette knife technique
This is my latest creation, an imaginary harbour inspired by my fascination for the city of New York.
Another example of palette knife technique.

Moonlight “Moonlight”

40x30x4 cm - Acrylic on canvas - Palette knife technique
On this piece I wanted to capture the amazing and surreal reflections of the moonlight on the marina of a small fisherman's town in Italy.

Eclypse “Eclypse”

100x100x4 cm - Acrylic on canvas - Palette knife technique
I created this piece on the night of the recent lunar eclipse, I was inspired by the electric atmosphere and excitement of the moment.
The strong contrast of brightness and darkness put together on this painting represent the dark and bright moments we experience in our lives. The message here is:= the following: ‘there will always be light beyond darkness’.

Infinity “Infinity”

50x50x4 cm - Acrylic on canvas
Bright and vibrant shades of yellow, orange and red inspired by a summer sunset

Segments “Segments”

50x50x4 cm - Acrylic on canvas - Palette knife and drip painting technique

This vibrant, colourful and energetic painting shows the powerful properties of colours and how they can radiate feelings of joy to the onlooker.

Bliss “Bliss”

50x40x4 cm - Palette knife and drip painting technique

The illusion of depth, created by the thick texture, the warm and darker shades in the foreground, which gradually become cooler towards the edges, aim to transmit to the viewer a feeling of uplifted consciousness and joy, hence the name 'Bliss',
