Ljuba Markovic

ljuba markovic

Location: Australia

Ljuba's art and it's aesthetics thrill the spirits and provoke contradictory judgments and comments. His paintings are full of his real life. He is a figurative painter, a realist, a surrealist and contemporary, modern artist. From the point of view of authenticity, vitality, and motives of artistic reality Ljuba's art turns to it's past so that it can better enjoy it's present.

Ljuba was born 1955 at Serbia and 1983 migrated to Australia, Melbourne. where he has lived ever since.

Ljuba has been exhibiting for nearly 35 years. His first exhibition was
1976 Gallery Culture Centre, October's Salon, Leskovac, Serbia.
1978 Gallery Centre JNA, Serbia,
1980 Gallery Culture Centre, Serbia,
1990 The Eclectic Easel Gallery, Fitzroy, Melbourne,
1991 Access Gallery
1991 National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne,
1992 Studio Gallery 232 Bay St Brighton, Melbourne,
1995 NAG - New Renaissance Gallery, Oz on Collins St Melbourne,
1998 Studio of Melbourne Art World, Carlton, Melbourne,
2000 Established Home Studio Melbourne,
2011 World Wide Art Books-International Contemporary Masters Vol.5, curated by Despina Tunberg

Ljuba's view is that art does not have prophetic ambitions, rather it is satisfied with reality emerging from images of certain periods through which the artist has lived.
