Girl with Jewels “Girl with Jewels”

This painting is the first of mine which has organic and nature themes.
I tried to archive multiple textural expressions. For the background, I was inspired by the leather craft technique called Rōketsuzome.
It is a traditional wax-resist textile dyeing technique from Japan.

Lily “Lily”

"Lily" | 9x13" | Acrylic ink and watercolor on watercolor paper.

Sister Ochre (Unity) “Sister Ochre (Unity)”

"Sister Ochre (Unity)" | 9.75 x 13.5" | Acrylic and watercolor on watercolor paper.

Flowers in a Bitter World I “Flowers in a Bitter World I”

The paintings in the Flowers in a Bitter World series depict women trapped in invisible hardship. Even if they are forced to decorate themselves and wear a mask of lavish beauty, they accept the consequences and strive despite the woeful circumstances. Their strength of character allows them to comfort others with a jubilant smile even though, below it all, they are taxed and tried. Society demands that we don our best guise as we go out into the world as our true selves go unnoticed.

Requiem II “Requiem II”

"Requiem II " | 27.5" x 20"| watercolor, acrylic ink and gold leaf on watercolor paper.
