Lubica Vlkova

Lubica Vlkova

Location: Slovakia

After art studies, the author settled in the town of Nemšová, where she runs her open art studio. She fully develops her artistic pedagogical activity here, at art courses for children and adults. She also successfully runs the EU / ART house gallery, where she gives space for presentations to domestic and foreign artists.
She has a very rich professional portfolio. She has been reaping success on the art scene since 1998. She appears in collective and author exhibitions, art plenairs, and participates in art projects at home and abroad.
The author concentrates on the personally experienced reality of a determined, balanced woman artist and mother at the same time.
The thematisation of femininity is one of the main themes of her work, which in parallel grows through her pictorial cycles. Her paintings and the objectivity of the themes shift to more personal, even intimate themes.
In her authorial work, she is a tireless experimenter and a seeker of new possibilities and levels of representation. In addition to traditional painting techniques, she also mastered working with digital media, which currently dominate in her works. She brilliantly exploits her experience in painting and drawing in computer graphics / new art media.
The author's work has two positions, analog versus digital image. One is loaded with matter and canvas, the other is ephemeral and fleeting.
However, both methods are relevant and authentic. Whether or not the work speaks volumes about the author's common and hidden desires. Many figural works act as a reflection of one's own feelings, others are silent, anonymous or ambiguous.
Throughout the work, the polarity of being is balanced. As she herself states, it is equally okay not to be OK, because a smile and a tear can be hidden behind the palms on her face.
