Patricia Sandberg

Patricia Sandberg

Location: Canada

Patricia Sandberg’s childhood in Northern Canada and a lifetime spent near water inspired a deep love and concern for the natural world. These experiences significantly influence her artmaking, and she donates part of every sale to environmental organizations. A practicing artist when life permitted it, she is now achieving her dream of being a professional artist. Patricia uses abstraction, and organic shapes and marks to intuitively explore her thoughts and emotions on the canvas.

Portfolio:

The Natural World

Nature is my muse, refuge and saviour. I paint what nature means to me, thinking of its strength and its fragility.

North of 60 was inspired by the incredible lights, darks and blues of Canada's north where I spent my youth.

Rainforest “Rainforest”

Rainforest was awarded HONORABLE MENTION in the 2023 "Abstract" Art Competition and accepted into the “Abstract” Art Exhibition" of Art Room Gallery Online http://www.artroomgalleryonline.com/.

"Rainforest" portrays my emotional connection to West Coast rainforest, where mist swallows up shapes but rain-washed colours shine bright.

Invitation “Invitation”

There's strength in these bold blues and darks, and the lines suggest directions. But the soft opening in pale yellow invites, a doorway perhaps. Into what is for the viewer to explore.

On reflection “On reflection”

Reflections in water can be so deceiving that you lose touch with what is sky and land.

Under a tangerine sun “Under a tangerine sun”

As I paint, my hands follow where my intuition leads. This abstracted landscape appeared.
