I was born on Sep.2th,1951 in city of Nis, Serbia.
I started painting when I was 13 years old and knew nothing about painting. After finishing elementary school, I entered Art High school in Nis which lasted five years.
Then I went to Art Academy in Skopje, Rep.of Macedonia for another three years. From then until today, I am painting almost 40 years as a professional artist and constantly upgrading myself.
I do all art techniques but I prefer oil on canvas.
I will paint until I can hold brushes in my hands.

I am Miroslav Olickov-Mirolli, a painter from Nis,Serbia. I began with painting when I was 13 years old and did not know anything about painting, specially oil painting. My first painting was copies of Picasso and Van Gog and I didn't know, at that time, which great artist names they were. I did these paintings with tempera on a simple canvas and frame which I did by myself. After that I went to high school of Art in Nis for five years and Academy of Arts in Skopje,Rep.of Macedonia for another three years. During my studies and after that, I worked all the time only oil on canvas although I was familiar with all other art techniques: drawings, graphics, lithography etc.
I work in these techniques for more than forty years now. I always must be inspired by some event (good or bad). The first thing that that inspires me is ecology and mankind as well as animals. These things are important to me because people do not take care about their surroundings and themselves which lead us to distract all around us and our whole planet. That is why I have always been and will be against killings(people or animals), all kinds of pollution and that is the reason that my works must always have some message which is visible through my pictures in all techniques.
I will paint my whole life until I can hold brushes in my hands because art is my first love after my love for my family.
After reading the Bible several times, I got inspiration to make a painting about Crucifixion of Jesus. I wanted to paint unique showing of the moment when Jesus great energy of his soul is leaving His exhausted and painful body from this earthly life and shinning all over in the second of His death and His way to His Holy Father.
My intention was to make a new kind of showing Crucifixion of Jesus unlike to usual presentations as icons or frescoes.

I got inspiration for this picture listening and watching about one of the biggest global problems and it is hunger. Human carelessness and loosing sympathy for hungry men,women and especially children touched me very deeply and I had to paint this picture as an alert to all people who may help and understand this great problem which for many years exists and kills poor people who are not guilty for being hungry.Those who have much of everything seem not to be interested in this problem at all. Very small number of people give support and help for these poor ones. I am so worried because every day thousands of children die from hunger and it makes me very angry.
If I had enough money, I would have given all for that poor children.

Escape from city narrowness and concrete surroundings with great pollution and a bunch of unnecessary things. All that and many other bad things make people stressful and unsecured. I tried to show the way to get out of all these on my painting. Throwing away all from him, a man is trying to escape through this tunnel and get out to the pure nature and light of new life.
