Colby Chester

Colby Chester has been an avid photographer for much of his life, working in 35mm, medium format, and digital. It was the Sierra Club publication of Eliot Porter’s seminal work, "In Wildness Is The Preservation of the World," that galvanized his interest in landscape photography. His images have been published in literary journals and art magazines, among them the Seattle Review, and the recently published British release, Developing Vision & Style: A Master Class In Landscape Photography. Recently, a selection of his work has been featured in the November 2009 issue of Color Magazine. His photographs have also been exhibited at Benham Gallery, Photo Center Northwest, Portage Bay Café, Madison Café, and several coffee shops in Seattle.

Mr. Chester is actively involved in environmental issues both locally and internationally, using his photography as an instrument for advocacy whenever possible. Many more of his images can be viewed and/or purchased at the website below:
