Giovanni Enrico Morassutti is an Italian actor, director, writer, artist and cultural entrepreneur. He studied Method acting at the Actors Studio in New York, graduated from the Centro Sperimentale dei CInematografia of Rome. Giovanni is a longtime collaborator of John Strasberg , son of Lee Strasberg. As a Neo- Expressionist and Abstract visual artist he combines action painting and collage techniques with found materials including Illustrations, portraits and textiles dealing with themes such as suffering, sexuality, obsession, family conditioning , loneliness and death. He is influenced by by the work of Jean-Michel Basquiat, Julian Schnabel, Jackson Pollock. Giovanni Morassutti is the founder of Art Aia- Creatives/ In/ Residence which is an international art residency, located in Northern Italy and in Berlin he cofounded Art Aia - La Dolce Berlin, a project space and production company, that focus on the development of the creative process and facilitates cultural exchange across borders.

Fairy Tale “Fairy Tale”

Mixed media piece on canvas realized in Berlin in 2020 by artist Giovanni Morassutti picturing four different groups of characters using watercolor and collage capturing different scenarios, like scenes from a dreamy tale , portraying stories that can be read from different prospective. Fairy tale is part of series Eyes and it is compose by four parts with a subject in common. All the characters are watching the spectator with a sense of suspicious. The artwork narrates one story with irony and humor. The images and the composition of the piece bring also an element of poetry to the artwork.
