My artworks reflect the sense of “folk” these days, I’m keen on working with ethnic applied arts. Every day I explore something new and project my personal discoveries through my artworks. For me painting is a metaphor for my vision of life, I create works full of simple brightness, positivity and color saturation. I use open colors, bold shapes and mix styles with vehement enthusiasm.
I try to create the symbiosis of contemporary art and native cultural traditions. I’d like to give people a sense of balance in life and positive emotions.

"Azerbaijan carpet" series of works

I have always been attracted to the national traditions of the East, and now I am so excited to express my love for authentic art. There is a lot of spirituality and deep significance here.

I have done a series of paintings based on the ornament of Azerbaijani carpet. They reproduce original elements of the cultural and national heritage of Azerbaijan – the carpet. The study of the history of carpet and regional differences of its ornament led me to the modern interpretation of the ornament elements in the painting. To be honest, Baku, the Carpet Museum, and the Old Town left the most vivid imprint on these works. The symbiosis of national heritage and the progressiveness of this state is the idea I envisioned in the works of this series.
All the details are painted manually. The perspective appears to be illustrational at first glimpse, but it preserves a volume with form and meaning. Deliberately bright colors symbolize the spirit of the Southern people, open and bold character.
The concept of the project is to combine the DNA of the Azerbaijani carpet with modern art while preserving the cultural and historical ideology.

Figs “Figs”

Size 90 х 90 cm
Canvas, oil

Sheep “Sheep”

Size 90 х 90 cm
Canvas, oil
The work was included in catalog XIII Florence biennale
The work combined one of the main animals of Azerbaijan and the carpet ornament of different regional groups. This picture gives its viewer a life-affirming mood. The bright palette conveys a southern temperament, a bold character. A somewhat decorative work, in the folk style, at the same time retains the volume, as if it speaks of the fullness of meaning and translates the elements and patterns of the carpet of Azerbaijan.

The Ram “The Ram”

Size 100 х 100 cm
Canvas, oil

Blue Jug and Armuda “Blue Jug and Armuda”

Size 50 х 80 cm
Canvas, oil
Armuda is a type of national glasses, a very important element of the Azerbaijani culture of tea drinking. The rich print of the "tablecloth" made of the carpet ornament gives not only aesthetic pleasure, but also cultural meaning. The Azerbaijani table is always rich and generous, with lots of fruits and sweets. The work is based on the mood of hospitality.
