(Wet Kraft paper, pencil and Parker blue-black ink; 8.27 × 11.69 inches) I remember finding a small stone well of tadpoles as a child one summer. I returned after a few days only to discover that the small well has dried up under the sun, leaving the desiccated tadpoles tattooed to the frying-pan stone bottom. The ink blots on the wet Kraft paper have been bleaching and losing their liveliness as the medium dries up under a strong lamp.
Nyctophilia is the preference of dark environments over bright and sunny daylight. This piece is dedicated to all those sleepless nights and walks on the shore. (Charcoal and paper, 16.53 by 23.39 inches)
