Vonnie Brenno Cameron currently resides in Santa Cruz, California. (She recently lost her home in the Pacific Palisades fire January 2025) . Growing up in Hawaii, she’s happiest near the ocean.
An artist from a young age, she studied at University of Hawaii, USC and Art Center College of Design. She also studied with artists Jan Saether and Glenn Vilppu in their LA studios.
From 1979-90 her paintings of urban scenes were featured in numerous galleries across the country, from Texas to Maine and Florida to Los Angeles..
She had a career in advertising for over 30 years in LA as an art director and creative director at Ogilvy for Mattel and Just Play toys.
She currently paints commissioned portraits and landscapes. Her portraits of Hawaiian Kupuna (elders) are featured in a virtual gallery: huiokuapa.org/hulukupuna-gallery.
The New Mexico landscapes are shown at Victory Contemporary Gallery in Santa Fe.

Her love of California and Hawaii is expressed in ocean and beach scenes. Many of them capture the magical light of sunrises and sunsets.
