I am a young artist with a passion for ceramics. I fell in love with the craft when I was in tenth grade and ever since it has been a part of me. Growing up in the suburbs of Philadelphia I was never too sure about what I wanted to be when I grew up or what I wanted to do with my life. It wasn't until my junior year in college at The Lincoln University, Pa that I realized I could really take my talent somewhere and could do something with my talent. My art is my passion and provides piece of mind. Since I realized my true talent and began to take my art serious I have won awards in high school, college and through the NAACP. This past summer I began an internship at The Clay Studio in Philadelphia to educate myself more on my craft. This internship and my current studies at Lincoln, are providing opportunities to further educate myself on both the craft and history of ceramics. I am currently working on my Senior Seminar Thesis and collection at Lincoln, which will focus on combining the meaning and visual characteristics of the Celtic Green Man with art forms of three different cultures of a similar meaning. I am working on proving that different art forms from various cultures can create cross-cultural representation of a certain concept by combining the visual elements of an art form from each culture.
