Joanne Marie Real is a contemporary fine artist based in Coín, Málaga, Andalucía, working under the artist name Art by Poppet.


Working mainly in acrylics, Joanne creates expressive original paintings, commissioned artworks, artist-signed canvas prints and fine art paper prints. Her work blends impressionistic and abstract realism, with collections inspired by wildlife, portraiture, emotion, resilience and the light and atmosphere of southern Spain.

Her paintings are rooted in strength, softness and feeling, often exploring subjects with a powerful presence — animals, figures, landscapes and scenes that seem to pause in time.

Art by Poppet began as a deeply personal creative practice and has grown into a dedicated body of work available to collectors online and by appointment.
