Emma Campbell Art
Emma is a mother of two young children from Newbridge, County Kildare, Ireland. Her main passion in life apart from her two boys, Adam and Noah, is getting knee deep in paint where she can unravel the ideas, emotions and visual senses of an idea that spirals from a small thought process onto canvas. The use of colour and flow from one point to another in any one piece is immensely important to her, as she tries to capture a thought and portray it into an image. The medium Emma mainly uses would be acrylics as they have great pigment and texture which help add to her abstract style.
Inspiration is taken on board from many things, for example, the natural colour and beauty that nature provides, whether it is on our own back door, or a passing image from a car window. She finds painting an amazing form of escapism from reality and daily routines, to sit still in a small studio and relax while a piece is in the making. Her Work is influenced by aspects of the unconscious, taking reality and enhancing what ones imagination can create. It is not only important but a necessity that a piece of work comes from within, reflecting not only an acute sense of creativity but thought, growth and individualism.
Her children and their imaginations sometimes inspire an idea and often her eldest Adam, would quietly sit by her side and work on a canvas, diving into all the colours of the rainbow on a simple colour palette. It’s a fulfilling moment as a parent and artist to watch how a painting can inspire and affect the thought process of a child and how small, yet amazing their own creative flare can grow, expanding how they visualise and encouraging them to automatically think outside the bubble.
So in conclusion combining Emma’s main two passions in life, her artwork and her children, it’s enabled her to create a colourful visual aspect of depth, movement and flare to her unique, contemporary art.
