Founding Director of Covian Santa Maria S.C., Blanca Santa Maria is a world class Fashion Photographer. CSM Creative is a Visual Company, dedicated to photography, retouching, graphic design and video. Here, Blanca manages a team of highly skilled photographers who are specialists in industry, food, advertising, industrial, fashion and portraiture. Always nurturing new talent, CSM stays abreast of contemporary culture by focusing on one goal as a team: to be the best in the business. This is achieved through discipline, structure, excellent service and maintaining a beautiful working environment. Co-founder Gabriel Covián (deceased) was known for stating “You are always as good as your last job.” This has become the code to live by at CSM.
After receiving her communications degree, Blanca began her career in fashion photography with Mexican Vogue in 1984. Since then she has worked with the biggest manufacturers, cosmetic companies and retailers in the world, shooting in Mexico and abroad. She is the recipient of the Silver Star Award from Fashion Group Mexico. Her work has been published in several books including The Best Photographers’ Book in Mexico vol. 1 & 2, The Book of Fashion in Mexico and Exhalations, edited by the famous New York photographer Joyce Tennesson.
Blanca lives in Mexico City where she remains open to the constant force of change as a mother, photographer and entrepreneur. She enjoys reading in her spare time. She speaks English and Spanish fluently.
