Born in Kagawa Prefecture in 1953,?Fujisawa is a calligrapher, and member of the Screening Commission for the Shoshoukai. She is also the executive director of the Kensinn Shodo-kai. Fujisawa has won numerous prizes in addition to being selected by the Nitten exhibition. Choosing her motifs on instinct, Fujisawa creates her pieces during the moment when what she has in mind and her subject matter agree with each other. Fujisawa places high importance not on design, abstraction, or the avant-garde but rather on writing the characters themselves.
