Born in 1931 in Gunma Prefecture, Hayashi is a Japanese-style painter. She studied under Shiun Ishihara, a master Japanese-style painter from the same prefecture. Many of her works feature flowers and landscapes with flowers including cherry blossoms, Casablanca lilies, and rhododendron. Itabashi is now active as an associate member of Nippon Nanga-in.
