Gwen Fulton

Gwen Fulton is a contemporary Scottish Artist who studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, Scotland. She graduated in illustration and printmaking, and was successful as a book illustrator in Scotland and England. Gwen has also exhibited her work in various shows such as The Association of Illustrators and with Portal Painters, London with whom she exhibits regularly at art fairs and gallery shows.

After spending nearly ten years living and working in Canada and various parts of the United States, Gwen is now re-established back in the UK, based in Surrey, England

In Gwen's work imagined landscapes predominate with recurring themes of mazes and enclosed or wild gardens inhabited by a diverse, often animal population. With occasional references to Northern European art history and a preference for detail, these paintings veer towards the surreal, intentionally conveying a sense of ambiguity or the unexpected.
