Marcia Raff

Marcia Raff is an award-winning sculptor specializing in national and international public art, who has recently expanded her expressive practice into the medium of painting. Her work consistently focuses on geometric purity and simplicity, masterfully translating complex conceptual ideas into three-dimensional space and onto the canvas. Utilizing enduring materials such as stainless steel, bronze, and brass, Raff’s portfolio features iconic permanent and temporary public installations globally, including Portal No. 1 and Portal No. 3 (Modiin, Israel), Columns 1, 2 & 3 (Ward Pound Ridge, NY), and Feynman’s Fancy (Gainesville, FL)—a series of precise structural replications of physics diagrams rendered in stainless steel.

Driven by interactivity, clean geometry, and tactile engagement, her recent monumental projects explore interactive labyrinth-themed structures that bridge pure form with public connection. With over 22 large-scale installations worldwide, Raff continues to push the boundaries of public space and visual form from her studio in Austin, Texas, as she prepares a compelling new series of paintings for upcoming contemporary competitions.
