Jeffrey Braxton

Jeffrey Braxton of West Haven, Vermont and Jupiter, Florida has been a fine art photographer for 16 years. Prior to that he was a physician (eye surgeon), actor, model, playwright, and for the past fifteen years a photographer. He graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He left medicine after four years to go to acting school full-time for two years. He also studied at various playwriting workshops in New York City. In 1999 he moved from New York City to Vermont and decided to study photography. He did so privately, and at Bennington and Rockport State Colleges. Since then he has been self taught. His work is exclusively fine art photography. His photographs are in collections across the United States and in Europe.

Recent Works

Jeffrey Braxton photographs places and things that strike him suddenly and visually. While this is his only requirement for photographing anything, he is drawn inevitably to the facades of older buildings, rooms that are well-lived in, and spaces (indoors and outdoors) that are a little forlorn. Yet the light and shadow and the composition of the images give them dramatic life and even nobility. He then prints those images that evoke daydreams in him and hopefully in the viewer.
