I am an english landscape painter living in northern Italy.
My work is about my response to the form, colour, space and light in the landscape. My aim is to paint the power and existence of the landscape, not the view of it. I am equally interested in the detail of nature such as the chaotic growth of plant life or rock formations. I try to convey the nature of the objects rather than a detailed life study.
My work could be called expressionist, it is abstracted in a way but is always based on figurative subject matter.
I work with acrylic and oil paint on canvas.
I exhibit my work in galleries and art fairs in Europe and the US.
