Victoria Johnson's paintings give a nod to graphics, shapes and esthetics of advertising media of the 1950’s and new design, biomorphic shapes and colors that suggested a mood of freedom and the a dawn of modern.

On a formal level, her paintings grow out of an acquaintance with the language of the non-objective, as she flirts with color dissonance in layers or juxtaposition while calling attention to the surface with the supple, sensual qualities of the medium of oil paint. Taking full advantage of the possibilities of the medium, the occurrence of unexpected passages in translucence and even in the character of pulls and drips of paint provide an encounter with the tangible.

Her studio work includes commissioned works for Boston Consulting Group,Seattle, Capstar Hotel Company, Vancouver, British Columbia - JW Marriott Resort and Spa, Palm Desert & the French Quarter, New Orleans - Nokia, Redmond, Washington. Sixteen paintings are installed in the Venetian Macao Resort and Casino art collection, Macau, China.

Her paintings are in private and corporate collections, including,Deloitte & Touche, Seattle - Russell Investments, Seattle - Swedish Hospital, Seattle - Allergen, Irvine - Department of State, in Yerevan, Armenia and Laos. Victoria Johnson is a mid-career visual artist, who holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Oregon.
