Shaun Parkin

Shaun has worked as a designer, maker and educator for the past 20 years, continually honing his skills as a sculptor working in clay. The fluidity and organic nature of this medium allows the development of ideas to continue throughout the process of creation. This freedom is fundamental to his search for the character and subtle nuances of form which reveal themselves as the relationship between maker and creation develops.

These creations are revealed through playful ceramic sculptures engaging an audience through the exploration of character and narrative. Through his ceramics, he explores his passion for climbing and bouldering, and the connection between clay and the rock where he explores nature and the outdoors.

Wachyu “Wachyu”

The Wachyu are peaceable creatures, feeding through the sense of sight, they are ever watchful of the world around them.

Whomee “Whomee”

The Whome are brave for their diminutive size, venturing out into the wider world to explore in their search for adventure. Forever being blamed for the burrowing of their distant cousins the Hewos however, they have developed a slight persecution complex.

“Tiny Train”

The lady riding this tiny train has a lust for life and a love of magic and recycling. Her friendly dog lives hiding away in the relative safety the drivers cabin, where she remains as an extra surprise for those who spend the time to find her.

Millie “Millie”

Millie eats rocks and 'creates' fertile soil as a result.

Russell breathes in polluted air and breathes out clean fresh air.
