Tatiyana Kraevskaya was born in a small town in Moldova. She was surrounded by the rich heritage of Moldovan songs, poetry, and art. Tatiyana learned to appreciate this beauty. She spent hours after school sculpting figurines out of modeling clay and illustrating books that she read. At age 12 she entered the Children’s Art School where she studied drawing, painting, composition, and art history.
At age 15, Tatiyana began studying at an art college. After graduation four years later, she began working as an art teacher in a school and then worked as an assistant for an art director in movie productions.

Her interest in movies prompted her to seek education in this field at the national institute of cinematography (VGIK) in Moscow, Russia, where she studied for six productive years in the art department. For the next ten years, she designed costumes and sets for movies and for theaters, gave private art lessons and showed her paintings at art exhibitions.

Tatiyana has received the following awards: The 2016 Certificate of Achievement Inspiration Art book; The 2008 Bertha Pessel Greenblatt Memorial Award Reading, PA; Artspace2000 Canada; Director’s Recognition Award from Period Gallery, Omaha, NE; Honorable Mention in the 30th Annual Juried Competition from Masur Museum of Art, Monroe, LA; Award of Excellence from Manhattan Arts International, Manhattan, NY; and Professional Abstract Painting Award Intermountain Society of Artists, Salt Lake City, UT. She also was nominated for a 2008 Annual Achievement Award as Outstanding Visual Artist, Orange County, CA; and in two categories for The 2005 ARTV Awards Las Vegas, NV.

Tatiyana’s paintings have been taken to nursing homes, rehabilitation centers and schools as charitable traveling exhibitions and art classes. She has donated a number of her paintings to charities. Her paintings have also appeared in magazines (Art & Antiques and Art Business News). In the catalogues (International Contemporary Artists and Hidden Treasure Art Magazine).

Tatiyana is a member of the Laguna ART Group, American Society of Artists, Academy of Fine art Foundation and the National Association of Women Artists. Her paintings are in a museum and in private art collections.

Her hobbies include writing stories, watching movies, reading and walking. Her children’s book, Wings for Little Turtle, was published in 2012.

Tatiyana Kraevskaya says, “Art is a spiritual language I use to communicate with people, no matter what language they speak. My work is about reaching every single heart by touching the deepest sanctuaries of the human soul. I invite viewers of my paintings to feel a higher awareness of light and reality.”
