Lynn La Count

I was born in San Francisco California in 1944 and grew up in the East Bay. I have been making sculptures since 2003. I am primarily self-taught. This is a "second" career are me. I worked in Information Technology for most of my working life. I now work out of my shop/studio in Occidental California.

Artist Statement
My art falls into areas.
First my art is about shapes and forms without an implied meaning. By this I mean I am not trying to tell a story, or reinterpret some real-world event or experience. I make things instinctively, playing with and drawing out my imagination, feelings and emotions. My inspiration comes from both real-world and imagined images. When I am creating a piece I try not to work with a hidden subtext or meaning I try to get it as pure as I can ie. ‘it is what it is, no more no less’. I do however enjoy seeing and hearing people’s reactions which come from their own unique and personal life.
The second is Pop Art. I love it, especially the work of Roy Lichentein.
