Eliane Ducros

Location: Canada

Éliane Ducros, an emerging artist based in Montreal, studied graphic design at University of Quebec in Montreal from 1988 to 1990. After graduting, she moved to Italy to study painting and illustration. Then worked as a freelance Graphic Designer for top businesses in Canada.

In 2015 she left the field of Design to pursue a full time career as a painter. Searching for patterns of colour, light, and shape. Her painting experiences have led her to places such as the annual, juried exhibition ART EXPO (the world’s largest fine art marketplace) in New York in 2017, and galleries in Biarritz south of France.

Her first stand out piece “Zanzibar” was picked up, among 24,721 pieces, by Saatchi gallery to be featured in the “Pop Gifts” Collection, a part of Saatchi Art’s 2015 Gift Guide Collections.

Her work is known for her use of bold and vibrant colors, the intensity of her subjects and the impact of her sizeable dimensions. “I just love how colors communicate with each other as well as with the eyes of the observer. They carry emotions, tell stories and set the mood. Warm colors beside colder tones vibrate. Art is life”.
