Cynthia Cummings

I was always encouraged to draw when I was a child so much so that when I was a teenager I enrolled myself in a local performing arts high school graduating as a art major. I continued to study art at college while working part time with Tower Records assisting the store artist ultimately becoming a store artist myself. Graduated from Sacramento State with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, art major and graphic design. I continued to show mixed media work at local art walk shows in the Sacramento area.
I spent many years working in the printing industry as a pre-press operator and graphic designer. Relocated to San Francisco for a job in the reprographic printing industry. Slowly migrated south to Santa Cruz where I started taking wood working classes to gain a better understanding of furniture making even apprenticed with a local carpenter for a year. Relocated again to the San Bernardino Mountains to the town of Crestline where I participated in the local art walk and showed some ceramic mixed media work at a gallery in Big Bear Artisan Etc. Currently located in Hemet CA working for the school district and making furniture and artwork from pallet wood. Trying to make more of an effort to establish myself as a mixed media artist.
